Each quarter grades are determined by the performance in 3 areas: ACHIEVEMENT, HOMEWORK COMPLETION and PARTICIPATION.

• For each lesson there will be a quiz about every 1 and 1/2 to 2 weeks.
• Quizzes are always announced beforehand.
• Extra help and extra practice are always available - do not wait until a quiz is announced to seek extra help. Please let me know when you would like to come in. I am available most days during lunch/recess and after school.

• Make corrections on each assignment, quiz, etc.
Corrections can be made on any assignment or quiz throughout the year. To do so, students either figure out the correction on their own, use their resources, or come in to work with me. Then, using a RED pen, they write the correct answer either next to the error or on a separate sheet of paper.
• Retake one quiz during the school year
During the school year, each student may retake one quiz. The retake must be completed within the same quarter that the quiz was originally taken. To retake a quiz, students must first spend at least 25 minutes preparing with me at least one day before retaking the quiz. |

• Work is turned in on time.
• Any necessary resources are used
o If the quality is not to the student’s highest ability or not all of the work is completed, then the
assignment is temporarily marked as an incomplete.
o If the assignment is then corrected and brought in the next day, full credit (3 points) is earned.

• Work is turned in one day late.
• Until the assignment is turned in, it is marked as an incomplete. |

• Work is turned in more than one day late but not more than one week after due date.
• Until the assignment is turned in, it is marked as an incomplete.
The student will be referred to the Homework Assistance program the second time this occurs.
• If the work has still not been turned in after one week, then the student will be referred to Homework
Assistance.

On the report card:
The grade is a 3 if the homework completion grade is 87-100%.
The grade is a 2 if the homework completion grade is 70 - 86%.
The grade is a 1 if the homework completion grade is 0 - 69%.

PARTICIPATION: Participation is scored on the 3, 2, 1 scale: 3 is the highest, 1 is the lowest
